AIRFINITY ANNOUNCES WIRELESS ALLIANCE PROGRAM

Customized portal for online product sales makes the procurement process easier for organizations looking to wirelessly outfit their mobile workers

Warminster, PA., February 2002 Airfinity, L.L.C., a nationwide network activation center and full service distributor of wireless data services and attendant devices, has launched the Airfinity Wireless Alliance Program, a customized, web-based procurement service that helps large organizations manage the logistics of outfitting their mobile workers with wireless data solutions.

"Most companies today are not set up to deal with what's involved in provisioning and distributing product to thousands of mobile workers scattered across the enterprise, both departmentally and geographically," says Michael Lang, president & CEO of Airfinity, L.L.C. "We simplify this process by designing a customized portal for the enterprise that gives their employees a simple way to get what they need, and up-and-running as quickly and successfully as possible."

Under the Wireless Alliance Program, Airfinity creates a customized, web-based ordering program for a company that handles all the implementation and distribution details:

  • Pre-configuring individual wireless units with appropriate software applications
  • Provisioning and activating the correct wireless voice or data carrier information, depending on the geographic area of use
  • Packing and shipping units to the correct destinations
  • Providing ongoing technical support for the life of the unit
  • Defining hardware and accessory pricing unique to your company

Employees can then go online to Airfinity's secured web site, designed to have the look and feel of the parent company, to order wireless hardware, software, and related accessories from a database of products specified by their organization. These products are then shipped from the Airfinity warehouse, pre-configured with the specified application(s), provisioned with the correct radio configuration depending upon the geographic area of intended use, activated on a specified carrier network and rate plan, packaged with all appropriate documentation, and adjusted to the user's preferences. The package is then typically shipped next day to either the employees' home or office.

Under the program, Airfinity also manages the inventory, creates the fulfillment metrics, and manages technical support questions for the enterprise and their mobile end-users. It truly is one stop shopping for the enterprise and their employees.

Airfinity administers a nationwide network activation center for existing and next generation wireless data services, and is a full service, nationwide distributor of wirelessly enabled small form factor devices (SFFDs) and accessories. The company provides VARs and corporate end-users with a single resource for best-of-breed wireless data hardware and network service activation. In addition to a product portfolio that includes such brand names as Motorola, Nokia, Sierra Wireless, Sony Mobile, RIM, and Compaq, the company provides network activation through such carriers as VoiceStream, and offers product fulfillment services, project consulting, project management services, wireless data training, and technical support.
